Yes to be honest it gets better with every listen and was sadly left out on it's when it came to backing.

I agree, I have a few of the songs and they get better once you have listened to them a few times! I absolutely love the songs Take Me, Stump, Sun and Armies! I haven't seen anyone mention Armies or Take me here? The lyrics of Take me are just fantastic...!=) And there's something mysterious about Armies that I love.

Yes we need more discussion on this CD (in fact we need more discussion on JOHN period ), but I do so wish John would finish up a follow up. ...I am so impatient I hope he either doesn't give up on a label or better yet releases it himself independently

I too have the CD, after long months of bugging myself out of pocket money, I do. And I damn love it. Grave Ride is one of my personal favourites - one of the best things John ever did, both lyrically and musically.

I just couldn't stop listening to it when I first got the CD. Come ON John, we need a follow up please

have had this for a few years now. at the time i played it once, put it away and didnt listen to it for months. evetually i started listening to it again and it totally hooked me, was playing it 2 or 3 times a day at one point it has a really organic, unusual homemade sound to it which really grows on you i find (it is homemade anyway though, at 'rotten studios' lol ) as musically its so different from anything he'd done before it does seem odd at first, but it just shows how willing he is to try new things musically lyrically, its definitely some of his most interesting material imo, definitely some of his most revealing (especially the one that goes 'I see these faults in you...i got them too' or sth) he shows a totally different softer side to his vocals too that is really intriguing. I really like it!

And Dog. I love Dog

Now I just wish he would put out a NEW record ... [/quote] So do I! Personally, though, I'm not sure it'll ever happen. Think about it: with having his own studio and being financially comfortable (especially if all those stories about 'millionaire publishing heiress' Nora are true lol ), he's in the wonderful position now to be able to make music for his own enjoyment, free of record company pressure and other constraints. To get to this positon he's had to put up with 3 decades of music industry bullshit, critical backlash, fickle fans, idiot journalists etc. So why should he waste his time and money trying to promote a new album , when he can just make the music HE wants to make, for HIMSELF, in his own space and time? I know which option i'd choose for sure. What does everyone else think? Having said that, i'd sure love to hear this new music, if it does in fact exist (If he did want to put some new stuff out, he should just sell it through his website or something. That way the people that REALLY want to hear it (i.e. us) will get to).

I know he does record what he wants and apparently so does Miss Nora as well She likes (or did like) rap from what I read.

Have you read that interview where he talks about it, he calls her 'the fastest rapper he's heard in his life' and 'with her German accent it's fucking frightening', apparently You know that is something I would pay good money to hear.......and to SEE his reaction in real time
