A few bits from today's news updates on JL.com really confused me: *Despite what was reported in The Daily Mirror Friday, June 8th, John Lydon is not about to release a "reggae" album. Talking about his musical influences the previous day on Ian Wright's Talksport radio show John commented: “I love reggae to death but that don’t mean I’m gonna pump out endless white-boy reggae beats. It would sound a bit hokey dokey wouldn’t it…” So there isn't going to be a new album or is it just that it will not sound like reggae? I heard the ian Wright show and was surprised about that quote because I think he has mentioned doing a reggae influenced album a few times before, I think it's even on his wikipedia profile (although i know it's not the most reliable source). So much for that promo tour I was hoping for. *John did mention the possibility of some Sex Pistols shows at Xmas… So could the rumours about them being up to something in L.A true? *You won't see any mention on the front cover – and it is over a year too late (see News March 11th 2006) – but you'll find a 2006 interview with John in current issue of Rolling Stone magazine. ROFL I thought that incident last year when they put Heath Leger (sp?) on the cover was as low as they could get, but, this..wow. : / All these rumours and clues lately, do you think there could be any truth in any of them?

Maybe not even the over-all sound but the way he used different kinds of noises to make music. But I feel the same way, Johnny just do SOMETHING, ANYTHING! I wanted to ask about the RS article, maybe one of you would be so kind to post the best quotes/information from it? Because I won't be able to read the magazine for a while but I'd really like to know the best bits. : )

On a warm afternoon in Feb. 2006...John Lydon sat in a beach restaurant near his home in Los Angeles....and he broke out in happy song....Lydon...newly turned fifty... (he's fifty-one now)wore a plaid vinyl jacket...a boater hat...tartan snealers...Union Jack socks and an exaggerated smile that seemed both easy and self-concious....A ruddier version of the same face...two decades younger....scowled from a T-shirt stretched across his belly...*I'm staring at you*...he said....His hat had a hole in it from a cigarette burn.....
*We're music hall*...he said,,,his cheer rising...*This is part of British culture..You're brought up..you sing along in the pubs...there's a piano in the corner....it's an ongoing process You can sing songs from 200 years ago & everyone will know it...just like you can sing something new brand-new....everyone will know it...because it fits into a thing....And basically Sex Pistols songs lend themselves absolutely to*....and by now he was positively beaming...*Does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the lamppost overnight?*
Another thing he said when a woman asked him for a cigarette...Johnny told her to *Go buy your own*...he said he didn't like kids who could afford things begging......

So the secret is out and they're re-recording Pretty Vacant for a skateboarding video game.
So any comments?
I'm glad that they're having fun and getting paid for it and I'm anxious to hear the new version but I was really hoping they were up to something else, like preparing for a tour. : P

I like the way you think! Plus Johnny mentioning that they might do some gigs during the summer, have to start saving up money just in case.

I was hoping that he`d visit MINE I bet the summers here where i live don't differ much from the winters in Argentina. XD When it comes to Johnny everyone should be selfish bastards but I think we're the ones with no luck, although SP visiting Argentina is more likely than them coming to Estonia, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for London though, hahaha I'm delusional, I'm talking like the tour has already been announced.

I saw that they had had an article in the Rolling Stone, but I didnt' get to read it because my boyfriend was too busy reading it. It looked like a good size article. I can't remember what month. May? June? And you know, I can't check it unless I happen to read (steal) that mag from the coffee shop. **ssshhh**. JK. I think it may have had Amy Winehouse as the cover.

I still can't fathom that there is no mention on the cover.... ....the article (unfortunately) isn't JUST about John but about the whole period in which NMTB was released and all the circumstances around that. Which is good. But we Johnny fans want more of JUST our John
