PISTOLS CONCERT FILM PLANNED
Punk icons the SEX PISTOLS are to release their first-ever concert movie. Cameras caught the original Pistols line-up, Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock, onstage and backstage at London's Brixton Academy last year (07). The end result will feature in The Sex Pistols: There'll Always Be An England, which was directed by Julien Temple, who first filmed the group in 1976. The DVD package will include a Temple-directed feature called The Knowledge, which features each band member revisiting the neighbourhood of his youth.

Sex Pistols concert DVD set for summer release
The first-ever full-length in-concert Sex Pistols title to be authorized by the band is due to appear this summer.
"The Sex Pistols: There'll Always Be an England" features the pioneering punk outfit's original lineup of Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock performing at November 2007 reunion shows at London's Brixton Academy.
The project reunites the band with documentary filmmaker Julien Temple, who previously directed "The Great Rock 'N' Roll Swindle" and "The Filth and the Fury."
The DVD, recorded in HD/5.1 surround sound, will appear in the United Kingdom in June, to coincide with European festival dates. U.S. release details are not yet finalized, but it's expected to hit racks in August or September.
It is being distributed by FremantleMedia Enterprises, the U.K.-based commercial arm of "American Idol" producer FremantleMedia.
"All key international territories will have the DVD released by August," said Pete Kalhan, FremantleMedia Enterprises' senior VP of home entertainment & archive sales. "It'll be through our own label in the U.K. and a couple of other territories; elsewhere, we sub-license."
International marketing plans are at an early stage, but will be led by cinema screenings in selected cities. Kalhan hoped Temple and/or the band would participate in a Q&A session at the London launch.
In addition to the main concert footage, the DVD package will include an 80-minute Temple-directed feature called "The Knowledge," showing each band member revisiting his old London hunting grounds.

OK, my DVD arrived this morning fresh from Amazon, soooooo, I buggered off home from work to watch it and What's it like? Well I have to say it's fucking brilliant!!!!!!!! You seriously have to buy this, I have only watched the concert so far and it is class! So nice to see a properly filmed show rather than a bootleg! The cutting and editing is a little suspect with John having a change of clothes twice during one song but I guess we can forgive Mr Temple for that little cock up!! A couple of faces appear in the crowd pretty regularly!!! See photo below for a clue!!! Well done JUlian Temple, totally made up with the DVD!!!! A MUST have for all True Pistol fans!

I was so excited to see S4J in the video! Which one is Elizabeth? And where does he do the Rambo part? I watched the concert but for some reason missed that part! I loved seeing them going around London. John sounded like he had a throat issue. Which was just so darn cute!

She is the young girl with the blonde ponytail that you just KEEP seeing over and over in the video See the above picture that Pud posted and just scroll over to my other side and you can see half of her Rammy is cut over to during New York ----the part where John sings "do the RAMMMMMMMMMBO" and looks over at him......I was glad Julien and Rammy put that in so that there is no doubt whatsoever what John is saying.. I would like very much to know what the origin of John starting to say that during New York is The first time I noticed him singing it and looking at Rambo was 2002 in San Diego

OOOOOOOOO Seaside, I just watched the bus ride part of the video and his little voice is most definitely hoarse and it IS adorable. However, I hate the way people on the street ignore him and won't "play" with him. He was just leaning over the side trying to get people to be friendly and for the most part they wouldn't. Heartbreaking........dammit. He is right about London, the new architecture is awful. I particularly agreed with what he said about how every country is starting to acquire modern buildings and it is really killing the uniqueness that should be everywhere, each place. There for awhile Johnny was just unleashed toward the end, yelling "cunts" at the people ignoring him on the street. He just comes off as so playful, but a bit depressed (as he himself admitted) with all the change that is not for the better. He also alludes that he may move back to England at some point. I would hate for him to do that (just like knowing he lives here for some reason), but I can understand. I think Baby wants to go home. It WAS so good to see Rammy there with him through it all. How dare they make him go out of a bar to smoke. I think that is the stupidest rule, people go in the pubs/bars to sit back, have a drink, and relax. But he has to go outside in the cold to smoke Did you notice he didn't take the cameras to his old homes or Gunter Grove the way Jonesy, Cookie, and Glen did their old homes? Baby is just too private to do that I think He just pointed out where they were from a distance. I also liked the part where they show part of the Brixton soundcheck and John explains the clothes he chose as well as the wonderful flag tribute he and Rammy did to their friend ("my friend, not my best friend" --John adorably makes the distinction in front of Rammy . Of course I also enjoyed Glen, Jonesy, and Cookie's segments, especially those that Jonesy and Cookie filmed together where they were showing how they ran through the alleys to scam the cab drivers . This is a wonderful addition to the live show (Jolly, there is a close up of you during the bus tour when they show scenes from the first night at Brixton ).........I LOVE this DVD!!

No, oddly he just points at or turns to Rammy as he sings the line. ...usually with a smile for Rammy This of course making me feel there is a definite good story behind him doing that (er.. ..Glen? a little HELP here ) Of course Rammy rarely has any reaction at all, all business and worry and observation is he You can almost feel him saying to John "I am WORKING over here" <---Rammy just be rockin a New York accent here for some reason

I'll sit next to you John I'm sure Rambo won't mind! Did ya notice BTW he said "Maybe fags outside is a good thing? Like as a joke against gay people. Course I know he has a lot of gay friends. That is what I think people get wrong. When he grew up you made fun of everybody. Didn't mean you hated them. It was just they way they get on with each other.
