Hi,
Sorry about the lack of involvement. We went to New Jersey on July 2 to visit with Bob's family for the July 4th holiday. Don't know why his 87 year old mom doesn't have internet, but that's just the way it is.
Came back home on the 6th with Bob's brother's family (brother, wife & 3 of their daughters) who were visiting from Oklahoma. (That wasn't planned but seemed they had "over stayed" their welcome in NJ.) I had to be back at work on the 8th & they just left today (July 9). As I'm typing we are on the phone with our niece in New Hampshire who just wrecked their car over the weekend. She crashed their mini-van back in March - actually, I think she may have had an accident with every car she has owned. Some people weren't meant to drive. Too bad she lives in the middle of nowhere & has to.
On the plus side - we did pick up the July Mojo mag while we were in NJ - though I haven't had a chance to read the whole article yet. Also had to cancel the start on the Gunter Grove doll house with my sister (which was to be on Tuesday) since we had company. We now plan to start next week.
Hope to get back into the Johnny swing soon. Hope everyone else is doing well.
Joan

I know what you mean about your niece, glad she wasn't seriously injured.......I have a patient that has crashed every so many years and he lists as a stressor for him "bad drivers"... .....bless his heart

You were definately missed around here, as were Seaside, Cold Metallic Green & some of the others who've popped up this past week. It's getting to be like old times around here!

Hey guys! Sorry I've been absent for a while. I really try to check back once and a while, but I've been very busy. I worked at the Country Fair in Veneta, OR (It's a BIG HIPPIE FESTIVAL, you all should come next year...) and then I've been working at Bohemia Mining Days which is my hometowns annual celebration. Also, my sister found out she's pregnant!! It's a big deal, because she's been trying for a year and was on fertility drugs...once she stopped trying because they couldn't afford the treatment anymore (Rant, so feel free to ignore: insurance will pay for some people to have one baby A YEAR and it's full coverage, but when one person just wants ONE baby, ONE BABY THAT'S ALL SHE ASKS, they only pay one-fourth or one-half... on like $500 PER TREATMENT medications. That's BULL), she got pregnant. I'm so happy for her. She's only around 8 weeks now, so it's still really early. But she's been really sick, so I've been making her chicken soup (I'm the cook of the family) almost everyday because it's all she can keep down. Recently she went into the ER for two days because she'd been sick so much and now she has a prescription for really strong anti-morning sickness pills, which help a lot and she's been able to keep down protein. So I've been busy taking care of her, because she just moved from Portland to our hometown (and next door at that) until her house is finished (another reason I've been busy - helping my dad to build a house.) I also got very ill with a kidney infection shortly after my last post (which was like the 4th of July....ish?) and following recovering from that, I fell asleep outside last week and got sun poisoning (another ER trip.) I swear, I always have something medically wrong with me!!! But I'm better now and my sunburn is getting better, although I have to take tea baths every night (it makes my hair so soft though - seriously, guys, try it.) In other news, I've been teaching myself to sew, as well as getting back into my art (I used to draw cartoons). Also, I'm redecorating my room and getting back in shape so I can start ballet again!! So I've been really busy guys, but I'll try to stop by here more often. I really miss reading the hilarious conversations.

Mish, Oddly enough we have been to the Oregon County Fair - I had to go check our photo albums. We were there in July 1986 - wow 22 years ago! Sounds like nothing has changed - I recall thinking I might get high just walking around the place & breathing. Was the guys playing the spoons still there? We need to visit Oregon again. We haven't been out to the west coast for a while now. Thanks for the memories. Joan

I didn't see a guy playing the spoons, but there was a naked pregnant lady who was painted like the solar system. I spent a lot of time asking cute, dreadlocked boys for food...
