I was reading old posts about Sid and movies about Sid and how certain writer talk about Sid as if he was THERE when he certainly WASN`T THERE.. then he slags off Johnny Rotten.. WELL JOHNN WAS THERE WITH SID AND KNOWS THE FACT MORE THAN YOU MAY KNOW!!! AS for who killed nancy and that Sid trial.. guess what SID COULDN`T GIVE A FLYING FUCK NOW!!!! coz he`s dead and he`s with Nancy (yeah I used to hate nancy but I`ve calmed down a bit  ) |

Yes. And those same people accuse our John of "crocodile tears" on the Filth and the Fury video. John was so hurt by that that he saw fit to comment on the new There Will Always Be An England DVD. How DARE anyone say he is faking it! Were THEY there? NO. John was. That was HIS friend whose memory you are raping for a fucking buck. Give a little to charity and crawl over the blood stains. Giving to charity does NOT make it right. There is another heroin addict rock musician that passed on and now his mother is seeping blood from his memory and holding a "charity" event each year just to make money off the son she did NOTHING for while he was here. I do not support her and I won't support what is happening now in Sid's name. If that charity can help some innocent person, good on. But no glory will any person leeching from the memory of a dead child achieve. JMO

I think continuing to write about it and give this specific writer attention (even if it is to insult him) continues to play into exactly what said writer wants: he wants attention. Yeah, there are always going to be people who don't get it and Parker is one of them. If we all just move on and stop talking about him, he'll stop. Why? Because he won't be getting attention anymore. Right now, people continue to talk about him, which just feeds into what he wants.
And this isn't aimed specifically at you, johnnysgirl, but people tend to do this a lot with people who have passed away: we, categorically, do not know what Sid would think about any of this. It only continues to undermine the idea of letting the memory of Sid just rest in peace if people continue to say "well, Sid would totally not give a shit" or "Sid would totally be pissed" because we have no idea.
I find it more unfair to continue giving Parker attention, as well as people continuing to act like they would know what Sid would think or care about, because that just really continues to allow people to basically dig Sid up and throw him around like some kind of weapon to prove their point.
Again, that isn't just aimed at you JG and I totally know what you mean; it makes me angry about Parker as well. I just feel like we need to let this issue die, celebrate who Sid was before he became a heroin addict, and move away from talking about Parker so much, because Parker is clearly an attention whore.

JMO Sorry to dredge up such an old post, and while I'm at it, do precisely what some here are saying NOT to do (which I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with), which is, give this particular buffoon who shall not be named any attention, but this literally physically nauseated me when I heard him accuse those tears of being phony. PLEASE. It is beyond evident how much this whole situation has spiritually, mentally and emotionally destroyed John, especially while it was happening. This includes the period PRIOR to Sid's death, as well. I was SO infuriated when I read this individual's 3rd "biography" about Sid. I could sit here until next week pointing out the inconsistencies, twists and outright lies, as I'm sure many of you could, as well. More importantly, I could not find a better way of phrasing what has and continues to be done to the memory of Sid than what you have, and that is RAPING it. In the most deplorable, vulturous fashion. |

I agree, I read Alan Parker's No one is innocent awhile ago, and I enjoyed the stories in it, but I was so angry when I saw how he and Sid's mum were trying to make it John's fault that Sid died!!! What the hell? Sid's mum never did anything to help her son and she was making money off him after he died, same with Alan Parker...John was only 21 years old when Sid started doing heroin, and he had his own problems, how was he supposed to help Sid (from what I have read, he did try as much as he could though)?! Sid needed professional help and his mum gave him some heroin instead^^ Are these people trying to make John feel bad about himself, that he didn't do more? Yes and they have succeeded, he's partly blaming himself, but he shouldn't because he was so young! Sid couldn't get any help until he actually really wanted to get help either. Some people make me so angry...!

You can read it and enjoy the stories about Sid...there are some good parts in there, but there are some parts that might really annoy you XD
