Show was fan-fucking-tastic, even though I was ill and had to trudge through the snow. Setlist was essentially the same but the songs were in a slightly different order. First thing that struck me was how good John looked. Physically fit, I mean, and he was in top form. Although I was initially disappointed by the line-up announcement, the band were on fire last night. For over two hours they played and the whole thing was ten times better than the 2007 Pistols gigs, which I thought were half-baked. If PIL play in 2010 (John has hinted at a new album so it's more than possible) then get your asses there! I'll review the concert in more detail when I get the strength.

Just read on the God Save the Sex Pistols board that PiL will be coming to the U.S. "very soon." I can't post to that board to ask for more details--does anyone here have any info?

I am with you lizardcat, I want to know those dates too as I missed these shows I would advise to keep to www.johnlydon.com as NO one gets the information faster than John himself

Bit of a rehearsal, and John slagging off X-Factor. Thank you so much for posting this Otto and picking up my slack John is TREMENDOUS here and the voice as he said never sounded better. I agree with him about the karaoke, he is so right. John is talent the others are pretenders and we DO need him back so bad. Never looked or sounded better and I so envy all of you lucky wonderful fans who have gotten to see him in person with this show. PLEASE PLEASE post for us less fortunates!!

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa I want to GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, thank you so much for this, please post more as you recall more Haha, yes it is quite hard to recall everything, especially since I was ill and had been drinking brandy for most of the day. The whole set was just great - the only gripe I have is that they played nothing from Happy? but hey, you can't have it all. 'Religion' was just unbelievable. Really jarring and John was shouting, "gimme more bass", and the bass was turned up to nosebleed levels. In fact, take a peek for yourself. John's energy for all these PIL shows has been incredible. I still can't believe how good he looked, he was getting more than his fair share of whistles let me tell you. I think this is BY FAR their best live incarnation since the original line-up. While it's still the same music, theres a harder and more polished edge, which makes the sound more metallic. I got serious respect for Lu Edmonds, he really adds to the group, not just in his playing but also visually. He oozes 'PIL'. If they play the US in 2010 then do not miss them at any cost.

Here is one of the videos I took...sound quality is excellent.I have converted to flv so picture quality has got a bit grainy! Security stopped me filming tho... I got a few full songs as well..truly outstanding live performance,so glad I was there! Also captured-Public Image-Careering-Poptones full songs.

PUBLIC IMAGE LIMITED 18/12/09 GLASGOW Like everyone else heading to Glasgow I was curious, excited and hoping for a Concert that would last in my memory for years to come.As the night unfolded it was obvious to a PiL fan like myself this was going to be a special evening. Met up with a few like minded PiL fans pre gig for a few beers then off to the venue.Had the pleasure of meeting Bobe as well just before the band came on. Concert started with Public Image with John complaining to the sound guys as he could not hear himself on the monitors. It did not seem to bother anyone inside the hall as it become apparent most people, not all I may add, were here to see PiL and not Johnny Rotten who in days gone by always played a Pistols number at any PiL gig I had been to. The songs flowed from an excellent band,Lu was every bit as good as any previous PiL guitarist,in fact he stepped up to the mark and other members were forgotten as he played a varied amount of instruments throughout.Bruce and Scott were powerful in their delivery as well....the band sounded as good as the original line up in this live arena. John...well he is the ultimate performer,he has a knack of making you feel part of the emotion of the whole evening.Everything from laughter to hate, some of his delivery was jaw dropping. Death Disco was haunting yet danceable with all four members contributing to an excellent sound. The usual set list from all the other gigs...stand outs and there were many when it would have been so easy to churn out a greatest hits tour,Careering,Poptones,Albatross,Flowers,Warrior a quite outstanding Religion..more Bass Walter ha ha! Other thing that I really enjoyed were Lydon solo,Psycopath and Sun were different but still most people were singing along to these songs. Of course a bit of Lydon banter always keeps the punters going as well..during Warrior he said I am a real Warrior, not like that wanker Mel Gibson, laughs all around.Various others throughout the night..mainly having a go at the Scotland football team that was met with a loud chorus of Boos..only in Glasgow would John get away with that! The songs came to an end with the usual encore...and I was buzzing with what I had just witnessed, well my eardrums were from that Bass on Religion! Went for a bite to eat and saw the tour bus.Me and my mate Tich decided we would wait a little while on the off chance we could maybe meet some of the band for pics and signing any memorbilia we had. It was a very cold evening and just as we were about to give up hope a few people started to board the bus.Lu Edmonds was first out and he spoke to everyone who waited.John appeared and took his time to speak to everyone who waited,he seemed geniuinely appreciative of those of us who waited.A lad next to me got his armed signed and he told John he was going to get it Tattooed in the morning, thats when John asked if anyone saw the Tattoo of Claude.I said I had seen it but it looked quite sore,he agreed! Got pic taken by Rambo, thanks Rambo!..John and the rest of the band signed my ticket,John also signed my PiL tshirt. He was excellent with everyone..The lad that got his arm signed had no camera so I obliged and took a pic of him and John as well and gave him my email address. On a freezing night about 12.15 am John and the band spent a good half hour before they boarded the bus that was leaving for Manchester..as he made his way to the bus he started to sing to the fans that were left a stirring rendition of"You take the high road and I will Take the low road...I will get to Scotland before thee.." It was one of those moments! The whole evening from start to finish was a success.PiL have in my eyes proven the doubters wrong with excellent live shows throughout the country.I honestly hope this band stay together and tour a little more. The live cds of the shows are an excellent idea,I will purchase a few, just a pity Glasgow was not recorded.

What and incredible night! John sounds like he was in top form and from what I have seen on Youtube he didn't disappoint anyone! Rammy took the picture...awwwwwwwwwwww he is so always ready to be of service to our John . I miss that little guy too. This review is wonderful Noir, thank you so much for posting it here!! One could not have wished for a better setlist in my opinion. I so hope to get to see them if they do continue to the states.
