2010: A good year for music films/DVD's

First up, When You're Strange is a brand new music documentary about The Doors, narrated by Johnny Depp with a ton of remastered rare footage. Click here to see the trailer.

Secondly, Malfunkshun: The Andrew Wood Story, is the story of Mother Love Bone singer, Andrew Wood. Mother Love Bone, as some of you may know, are the band that later became known as Pearl Jam. Looks interesting this one, and here's the website.

And all of this comes hot on the heels of Nirvana: Live In Reading, a full two-hour concert which was released on DVD recently. I also hear Mad Season's only filmed concert Live At The Moore Theatre will be getting a DVD release also.

WOW, all of this is great news to me. I love every band mentioned and am especially happy to see some recognition coming to Andrew Wood and Mad Season (featuring Layne Staley). Two amazing talents that, like Morrison and Cobain, should never be forgotten.
