Do pardon my absence but I've been a little busy. Made the trip to Ireland to see PIL last weekend. Great show. Setlist was largely the same as previous concerts since their reformation but with the addition of a couple of rarities (it was great to hear Acid Drops live). This Scott Firth is a talented fella, starting to notice him a bit more in the line-up. Lu sported a beard not dissimilar to someone out of ZZ Top, and John was his usual self; full of energy and venom. The venue itself was quite nice too, not very big but nicely spaced. You see, as much as we all adore the Pistols, I think John comes alive more in PiL. They have to do a new album because the current line-up is the strongest they have been for a very long time. With everything John has been through lately, and if the subject matter is tranferred into song form, it has the potential to be their best album yet. With a few of us getting signatures (I got a few bruises and a hangover to boot), it was a good night. Next gig is Blondie at Somerset House, followed by Lou Reed and The Stooges and Hop Farm.

Sounds like a great show (of course it would be ). I so do wish I could see them before they stop touring again I agree without a doubt that there is much more of John in PiL than there will ever be in the Pistols and it isn't just because the Pistols recorded for such a limited time, it is CONTENT. John was just allowed so much more creativity within PiL <---painfully obvious observation. They will always be my favorite no matter how much I love the Pistols.

I so do wish I could see them before they stop touring again You really owe to yourself to see them in their current incarnation. I believe they are at their best performance-wise. And we can expect a live review from forum member (and my administrator at Love Kills), jrotten, as she made the last minute decision to see them in Oslo last night.
