I am just starting to see some of these via MySpace and am interested in what everyone thinks........particularly anyone who has gone to see any of them. I am not sure I would want to. Nothing against any of the people doing the tributes, just that it would kinda make me feel sad and empty that they are not the real thing. I respect any fan paying tribute to John/Pistols in any way they want if it is genuine, it just isn't my cup of tea... ....so to speak. Opinions?

I love the Sex Pistols Experience. They are a very genuine band and try really hard to stay accurate. It's campy, without being offensive, if that makes sense. Like, it's humor to them, which is really what Johnny was trying to do with the Sex Pistols, or at least that's what he says now. The Sex Pistols Experience is the only tribute band that I've actually been able to hear. I do like them, and how much their lead singer looks like young Johnny.

I have never seen them (other than on video), but I have heard they are the best. And they did request to add P & V as a friend, so they have to be respectful of John. However I must disagree on only one point.... ...Johnny Rotter does so not look anything like John. I mean obviously he dresses like him for the part and has the "costume" down well, but that is where it ends for me. John is just the hottest creature ever created and when he was made the mold was forever destroyed (God or whatever just KNEW that women --and some men---just couldn't handle more of THAT kind of perfection )

Sorry i wouldnt pay to go see any tribute band, especially when the real band are still alive and gigging. Sex pistols were about breaking out and being original, i think tribute acts ruin that aspect of it. thats just my opinion though and i am sure many people have a great time going to see them, it just wont ever be me doing that...

I've loved the Sex Pistols since the day I made the decision to go out and get NMTB back in '77. Through the years, they have been very special to me. I've been wanting to see the Sex Pistols live since '78, but unfortunately, never got the chance to.
So I have mixed feelings on Tribute Bands. Would I go to see one? I guess it would depend on who was playing. I agree with some of the opinions here in that I feel the best of the bunch is The Sex Pistols Experience. I enjoyed their acoustic versions of Pretty Vacant and Silly Thing when they played along with Steve on his radio show a while back. Musically, I think they do a good job of recreating the music - much better than some of the other bands I've heard and watched on YouTube. If they toured in my area, I'd go see them - it would be the closest I'd ever get to seeing "Sid" that's for sure!!!!
