a recent article stated: The Sex Pistols have been asked not to swear during their upcoming reunion tour, to avoid offending any children watching.
John Lydon claims bass player Glen Matlock has insisted the punk icons keep their language clean, because his son will be at some of the concerts.
However, the outspoken singer looks set to ignore the bad language ban for the upcoming gigs, which include dates in London and Hollywood.
"He's been saying that all this swearing should stop. I understand he's a father and doesn't want his son to have to hear foul language," said Lydon, before dismissing the plan.

Glen released an official statement on the news page of Sex-Pistols.net stating this is completely untrue=== "It's absolute bollocks" he was quoted as saying GO GLEN I locked this poll just because it IS untrue and we don't want to promote Glen as having said something he never said.......

Yeah, I remember reading this news at the Sexpistols.net forum... But it's utter bullshit, some journalist with too much imagination! And Glen's answer just cut to the chase

I do know that Glen has campaigned for stricter controls of swearing on television at certain times of the day (when children are home/awake, in the morning, etc), but as Snoogs said, he's issued a statement that that is not true that he wants to ban foul language at the show.
Plus considering his eldest son would be 13/14 now, if his son hasn't heard swearing, something's up.

Haha, that reminds me of the time back in the 70s, when Johnny said apparently Glen refused to sing some lyrics of songs. And Glen said that was total bollocks too! It keeps happening to him!

I'm studying to be a journalist, and I promise you, all journalism programs require ethics classes and have for a very long time. So it is not ALL journalists that do this (in fact, it is a very small number of journalists that do - it's just that when one of that small number acts badly, it's a BIG deal), to lump them all together is a little like grouping all sex pistols fans together - even though we know some are different from others. ;]

"Don't judge a book just by it's cover unless you cover just another". I'm not tarnishing all journalists with the same brush infact my statement does not use the word "ALL" in it, but John, PiL and the Pistols have always had bullshit written about them and that is fact.

Which is why John is often very short with journalists even today. You have to earn his respect and getting "into" a chat with him can be icy at best depending on his mood. He has just been burned way to many times.

You did say, "journalists are wankers." By just saying "journalists", you insinuated all journalists, sorry - you did not specify "this journalist" or "those journalists" etc. But I'm glad you clarified, because I don't like to see journalists as a whole be grouped into one corrupt category. I am aware that PiL & the Pistols have had a lot of poor things written about them - but I would say that at least a percentage of that is not unwarranted - granted, not a large percentage, but journalists are people too, they have to interpret how things are said or told to them to the best of their ability. That doesn't make up for or defend bad journalists, but rather, it's just another side to the story than "these journalists are assholes." Sometimes, this just get lost in translation and also in editing - sometimes editors are really what make journalists sound like jerks.
