She was coming to England to bed a Sex Pistol or because she wanted to bed a Sex Pistol?
Its been widely reported over the years that Nancy once said that and that was at least part of her goal/motivation in coming to England.
But I' ve read a lot about Nancy and as far as I can tell the SP didn't have anything to do with her coming to England.
It seems to me that she just happened to meet them at a party because she knew and hung around so many music industry people in England and elsewhere.
I never got the vibe that she schemed to meet them paticularly that night althought maybe I'm wrong.
What does everyone here think about this?

No, Nancy just went to England because the New York "Punk" scene i.e. MUSIC scene had moved over there. She wanted to follow the music. She did go after John first, but, as he stated, he "passed her on to Sid". |

Thanks. I didn't think the SPS had anything to do with her going to England. Its a real shame that false statement is attributed to her like that. Hell and also living with Nancy. Though, it is usually said that Nancy went to London to follow Jerry Nolan of the Heartbreakers...

Nancy probably went to England for a lot of reason. 1) People in New York were tired of her. 2) She wanted to stay part of the scene, and the Heartbreakers were headed to England at that time. 3) She'd heard about how cool the punk scene was in London and wanted to be part of that scene.
She might have mentioned something when she preparing to go to London to Sable Starr about wanting to bed a Sex Pistol, but that was probably not her only reason. All her connections to drugs and music were heading to London and she wanted to stay part of it.
It was less about Nancy wanting to just bed one of the Sex Pistols and more wanting to be able to keep up with her previous habits of drugs, music, and sex with musicians.

If its true, that Nancy said that, then she certainly got her wish. And fell in love with one also, which she probably did not count on.
