My brother was in a really terrible car accident today. He got rearended at a stop light by some guy going upwards of 65 MPH. And the guy who hit him just drove off. My brother was really hurt. He called us and told us what street he was on and that he was hurt, but then the call dropped.
So please, if you pray, pray for my brother. And if nothing else, send good vibes his way. He's been my best friend since we were babies and he is the nicest person in the whole world - I cannot imagine my life without him and I cannot believe that someone would just LEAVE him like that. :[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[

Thanks guys. He's doing fine - he'll be in the hospital for a few days, but he's fine. He broke 6 ribs and cracked his skull. While I was at the hospital last night, the guy who hit him came in and said he was sorry. And I flipped out. My grandpa was holding me around the waist and I was flailing screaming "I'M GONNA KILL YOU! UNDERSTAND?" The guy was then arrested. He gave us this BS excuse of "having to go pick up his kids." Sure, whatever. Your kids will be fine, you just severely injured a 21-year-old. but all that matters is my brother is fine. His car is pretty much totalled though. I offered to let him drive mine, but the insurance company is providing him with a sweet rental car (which won't make him happy because he drove a Hybrid before cause he's obsessed with the environment and if it's not a hybrid he's driving he'll complain hardcore. lol)

That's good that your brother is doing okay. I'll still send good vibes his way. That idiot that hit him is exactly that: and idiot.

Mish - I just read this about your brother. Thank God last time you wrote it looked like he was recovering. Could you give us an update on how he's doing?

Mish - I just read this about your brother. Thank God last time you wrote it looked like he was recovering. Could you give us an update on how he's doing? He's doing really good. My brother's always been sort of the "sickly" one - he had a weak immune system. So it took him longer to recover from his injuries. It took them almost two months to fix his car though. The thing with Hybrids is that they have a series of 4 batteries in them and if one gets damaged, it would cost more to replace that 1 battery than the whole car is worth at that point. So they had to completely replace the back of the car and then see if any betteries were damaged - and thank goodness none were. My brother got two rental cars during the two months - which he hated. One was like a gold Camry, it looked like a car a grandma would drive. The other was a purple PT Cruiser, which he said made him feel gay if he went anywhere. The guy (who hit him) - his insurance had to pay for all the car repairs and my brother's medical bills, and he was charged with hit and run, drug possession, and attempted manslaughter. It is incredibly possible that if my brother hadn't called us he could have theoretically died. It hasn't gone to trial yet, but most likely, he'll be convicted. He'll only serve a few years though, at most, and pay a fine. His license has already been taken away and he has no insurance. He was charged with drug possession because the "reason" he left was to go throw drugs out of his car, so he wouldn't get in trouble. So pretty much everything is fine. My brother's doing really well. He's actually looking for a bigger apartment so his cat can have more space to run around. And he's going back to college soon, to train to become a commercial air pilot.

Oh Mish I had no idea that this had happened to your brother! I'm glad he's better now...Car accidents are terrible, I lost my grandad to a drunk driver, so I know how you feel. My prayers are with your brother and your family.

What a scare, though, huh? Makes you realize just how precious life is....

So our family has always had a phobia of car accidents.
