I think he can´t be the king of England.. but the day Charles becomes king... William will be prince of Whales and Harry (if I´m not mistaken) would be the duke of York.. I don´t know.. haha I love reading about monarchies even when my country is not a monarchy  I don´t think Harry wants to be the king.. but if Snoogs says it.. the GOD SAVE HARRY KING OF ENGLAND |

If William were to die (not that that would be like awesome - it would be sad), Harry would technically be next in line (behind Charles.) Charles is first in line, followed by his children; then comes Charles' brother (either Andrew or Edward - which one is older?) and their children. Then the next of Charles' siblings and their children, etc. Then cousins and their children, on and on. However, Harry will only become Duke of York if Prince Andrew is dead when (and if) Charles ever becomes king; William would then move to Prince of Wales and Harry (if Andrew is dead) would be Duke of York. However, in Andrew isn't dead, then I don't know what happens. (Technically, by the Monarchy of England's own rules, Prince Charles should NOT be able to ascend the throne because he married a divorced woman. That's a no-no to them. Other people have had to step down, but no, not Charles. Douche. [Sorry. It's not the actual fact of marrying a divorced woman. It's the double standard of the whole thing.]) To the post as a whole: As cool of a King as Harry would be, he wasn't raised to be king, you know? From a child, he KNEW he would never really be able to be King. William was RAISED to be a king, he's been prepared for the pressure since he was really little. Harry always was less burdened by that, you know? And as it stands now, the monarchy really means nothing in the UK anymore, so really William and Charles are just moving into meaningless figurehead roles where they have to act prim and proper and be hounded for the rest of their lives. That would suck...!! I have always liked Harry the most though, you know? He's at least honest about everything. He's like "I smoked pot. Yeah. So what?" He's like "I'mma join the military. So what?" He's like, "I actually want to fight in the military, rather than SOME royals who just sit around...Dad." And now the press releases where he's stationed in Afghanistan and he has to come home.  Good job, as if the Taliban wouldn't LOVE to blow up a royal. I hate the media. Wow this turned into a really long post. My bad. |

Yeah... I know.. or if Williams gives up the throne... but I don´t think he will... who knows... I thnk Harry would be the next in line after Charles if William was born a girl.. I think they give priority to the boys when it comes to inhereting the throne... Back in the day, that used to be how it was: they would skip girls in the line of success. But nowadays, they probably wouldn't do that because of the public would probably not be very happy about it & they would get a lot of flack. At this point, the British Royal Family is all about looking good and pleasing the public. |

I think it would be a good progression in the Royal Family for him to get to become King anyhow because it was just ridiculous that the current Queen's uncle was forced to choose between the throne and happiness. Why on EARTH should he have to do that? Who the man marries has not one hairy rat's gonad to do with how he would perform in the role of King  |

About marrying a divorced woman Mish.. I think that he was allowed to marry Canilla but in the futire Camilla would not be allowed to be called Queen (Diana´s revenge maybe  ) she doesn´t even carry the title of princess of Wales but Duches of Cornualles which goes with another title prince Charles has.. (Duke of Cornualles) ik.. useless information but I had to post it... And Mish... it doesn´t depend on people´s opinion when it comes to succesion.. it has to be studied by parliament and the the law has to be aproved.. the same happens in Spain ... I think they wanted to change the sucession law.. right now Prince Felipe´s doughter enfant Leonor is supposed to be the next in line for now.. if the prince´s wife gived birth to a boy thaen that boy will have priority... and I think the same goes for England or that is what I think.. I remeber watching the queen´s biography on tv abnd someone said that the queen wished so hard that she would have a bother so that she won´t be queen... but that never happened |

But the fact that one person has to step out of line (he was FORCED to step out of the line of succession) and Charles doesn't have to is ridiculous. If you're going to have a monarchy full of silly figurehead rules that everyone has to follow, then you should have to follow ALL the rules you set up for yourself and not pick and chose which people have to follow them or not. To rephrase that: if you're going to have a bunch of rules that kings have to follow, then one shouldn't be able to make exceptions. It's seems just not fair that one person was forced to step down by his own parents and yet Charles gets an exception because, oh, it's Camilla and Charles. Screw that. Follow your own rules or don't. Because you can't follow the line of succession rule and then NOT follow other rules regarding the line of succession. It's unfair to everyone who has ever had to follow that rule. Don't play into the monarchy (CHARLES) unless you want to follow the rules. |

Yes but I would like to think the rules can be re-thought as time progresses and people get less restrictive in what is "morally right". I would like to think even the Monarchy can progress since the 1930s. I have a feeling no one will ever tell Wills or Harry who they can or can not marry. And that is how it should be.

Well.. actually William is dating this girl Kate and I guess the queen likes her as Will`s possible future wife .. and she`s not from the royalty... I think times are changing so if Will wants to marry that woman he will but I se Kate`s pictures and she looks as if she had no patience at all and what does she expect? she`s dating someone that will one day be king of England so she has to deal with it ... |
