I think we should shamelessly spam the link of this forum where ever possible, I have an idea though, youtube is a widely used, so maybe we should make a little promotion clip, or post the link under all the videos of Johnny. When I get a free moment I'll make a topic on deviantart forums, and this is kind of a long-shot but maybe you could ask the owner of the sex pistols page to add this forum to his links page, I know there are a lot of people who would love to be a part of this forum!

I've got one more quite devious idea for promoting, it's definitely better for reaching the people we're looking for, you know those fan-listing things on the net, there's one for John too, there are a lot of fan's e-mail addresses there, maybe it would be a good idea to send them a note to promote the forum, because basically they write their names their because they want to get information about him, right? It'll take some time though, maybe I'll do it when I have some free time, which seems unlikely though in the near future. Oh, and someone who has a lastfm account could leave a link to John's artist page. (But to make you feel better about your mishap, I'm one of those people who panics about the computer not working and then 5 minutes and a lot of wrecked nerves later noticing that it isn't plugged in  ) |

Find other John Lydon/Sex Pistols sites and post an ad for your board there. Also, hit the Members link on each board and on each member's profile you'll find links to other boards and you can post there too, then do the same with the other boards and so on and so on. That's how I did it. You could also go one step further if you're feeling really bold and PM all the seperate members with a brief description of your site with a link... this is where copy & paste saves loads of time!

Thanks for the suggestion Fuggle........I kinda tried to do that but have had limited success finding fan sites......which was why I went to the "official" board and posted and was promptly removed I have posted the link on the few sites I did find...if anyone knows any others please either point them out or post a link |

Well, aren't you a member of the Blind Melon forum, Snoogs? They have a board for website advertising there. :B And I already have a link up for this place on my Myspace. >.> Yes, but I am not sure it would be appreciated if I did that. I am not sure how many Blind Melon fans The Pistols appeal too and I am afraid it would be considered rude if I just posted over there just to promote my board. I would rather find Pistols sites that exist already where maybe people would like a John related site where you can let it all hang out without fear of offending anyone or having anyone flame the hell out of you  Thank you for promoting us on your Myspace! |

I plan on making an affliliate bar on my board (which I plan on advertising as soon as I find a good place to do it). I would be MORE than happy to add this message board as an affiliate of Fantropolis v1.0. Its about all things rock, and this message board is definitely a thing of rock. Rock knows no boundaries.

I plan to use either of these images as the affiliate banner for the affiliate bar on my board. I'm still trying to figure out whether or not I'm going to put them along the side or the bottom, or below the logo. I have some code to figure out. How do they look? Same image, different size.   |
