Thank you for the info! I've never actually SEEN this Nora person--did a few searches for her on the web--nothin'. Perhaps there are pictures of her in John's book? So, Johnny like femme fatales, does he? Well, well, well...(polishing my snub-nose handgun and placing it in my alligator purse)... I envy the heck out of Nora! I wish I could inhabit her body for a while--both now and in the past. I'm sure Nora would need a break now and again, right, Nora? Well John said what attracted him physically to his wife Nora was that she was the blonde "femme fatale" and he said he always goes for that. Yes, he does love someone original. Nora was far from a punk and he mentioned that he loved how she dressed kinda 1940s and very stylish. She didn't imitate or copy. And you can certainly see that this is still so by any and all pictures of her. Oh so jealous am I of Miss Nora Since you have not yet achieved the password to our pictures section (but I feel confident that you will soon ) where there are very many pictures of Miss Nora, I will post this "teaser" here now.........Please refer to The Vacant Lot section of this board to learn about our illustrious Pictures section to better know when you can get the password Here is Johnny and Miss Nora (wife of 29 years by John's count)

Wow--thanks! Really interesting to finally see her! She is put together, isn't she? I wonder what she looked like when she met Johnny. Oh, and how did they meet anyway? I'd love to hear that tale. I'd love to hear Johnny wax all romantic about her. But perhaps its a tale for another thread? I try to be very aware of hijacking threads. Thank you for the info! He does talk about her pretty frequently......she is German and met him back in the Pistols days--- they were in the same circles back then. You will have to buy John's book for the story-- she has a chapter in it where they both tell the story of how they got together. What stood out to me quite a bit was John said "I knew I wanted her to be a part of my life"...... awwww Baby... .....lucky lucky Miss Nora

I wonder what she looked like when she met Johnny. Oh, and how did they meet anyway? lazysod, here's a quote from John's book on that subject. John says he asked Nora for a ride to the Speakeasy one night: "Nora was meeting someone. She just drove to the Speakeasy and said, "I'm going now." She wouldn't even let me walk into the club with her. I had no money. She said in her thick German accent, "I'm not payings." Nora was so cruel, and I love cruel women. She did not want this embarrassing lump near her." So their relationship had a rocky start, apparently. They had to grow on each other somewhat, it seems.

Simonsezwhut: LOL! Oh my, that is brilliant! Cruel, German woman ensnares poor, shy Johnny's heart! That's so awesome! I wonder what she looked like when she met Johnny. I have also heard 15 thrown around by some......

John is such a sweet man... Nora is indeed a lucky woman.

I try to see what it was about HER that got to him.....seems it was her very disinterest in him, she had her own style apart from the scene, and she was already established financially. In short just her security with who she was. Lucky Nora dammit ;D

It was like "cut the crap and don't play any games"...very cute lol

It was like "cut the crap and don't play any games"...very cute lol Indeed...it seems like he respected her for self-assuredness. I used to date a man who worked with some very famous names in the music business (INCLUDING John--I'll have to post his story here sometime), and I remember what he told me about dealing with famous people, or people who are used to being adored. He said you need to represent yourself to them as an equal, or else they may naturally fall back into treating you as simply a "fan." Perhaps this factored into John's adoration of Nora: she was most certainly not his "fan" originally: she had experience and character of her own to offer.
