Travis Barker & DJ AM

Travis Barker and DJ AM were injured in a plane crash early this morning (1AM). The plane crash killed four people: Sarah, the Pilot, James, the copilot, Chris, Travis' friend and assistant, and Charles, another passenger. Travis and AM are both in critical condition. The plane went off the runway and collided in a wall, bursting into flames.

I was never a big Blink-182 fan, but Travis Barker is one of the most talented drummers of my generation. DJ AM is one of the most popular DJs and while he might not be the best, he's a nice guy and he's overcome a lot in his life (he used to weigh 300 pounds).

My thoughts are with Travis' and AM's families, and with the families of those who died.

According to new reports, they are doing very well. AM was put into a doctor-induced coma so they could perform skin grafts. Travis was burned mostly from the waist down. They apparently escaped by climbing out one of the windows and sliding down the wing. They were sitting close to the back of the plane, behind the engine, so when the plane crashed, the four in the front were unable to be saved. Many people have started slamming Travis and AM for not saving the others once they got out, but what were they supposed to do? Climb into the burning wreckage of the front of the plane that was now drenched in jet fuel?

Anyway, they are doing quite well, but they will both probably be in recovery for a while, physically and mentally. Travis lost his two best friends, Chris and Charles, in the plane crash.
