I was so astounded by this wonderful DVD!!!! To me the best parts are the ones where Sid completely comes clean about his drug use....Sid was so very smart....It brought tears to my eyes to see him describe how HE did not want to be a junkie and then see Sid describe how he felt after Nancy's death...He looked so down......I really felt the stinging tears in my eyes......And to top it off to see and hear Johnny's tears....I really can't go on....
John looked so good.....I LOVED seeing him perform....He looked so good on stage.......I can't even begin to say how AMAZING he was doing all of their hits!!!! I think I am partial to *Anarchy*.......Johnny was also very candid...(in his adorable sort of way)......I found it very interesting to see that Paul and Cookie were truly *sheep* of Malcom's..........
Malcolm was (to me) the birth and supposed death of the Pistols...He stole so MUCH from those boys......I will be forever *smiting* him to hell for that...........I did not like him in this film.....
My best friend was there for me through this DVD.....I really know how Johnny feels when he talks of HIS best friend.......Thank you Johnny for being so open.........

Yeah.. I have TF&TF on dvd and on vhs.. the dvd.. I downloaded it and then turned it into a dvd so I could watch it on my tv...
EVERYTING ABOUT IT IS GREATTTT!!!! haha I agrre with you TAO Malcolm was the reazon Johnny was tired of the Sex Pistols in fact Malcolm RUINED the band... if only Steve and Paul listned to John and fired malcolm... how funny and this doesn´t have anything to do with this film in question.. but talking about the Sex Pistols firing Malcolm.. I remeber watching a special about The Clash and hearing when the fired Bernie Rhodes.. that was a smart band.. too bad that the Sex Pistols didn´t follow that...
Err.. I loved the part whenere Johnny is waling with that long blue coat.. well light blue I think during the eearly part of the film.. well not so early.. when they are playing the Alice Cooper song.. I mean.. the part where Paul Cook is talking about how they met Johnny and then you see Johnny looking DAMNED SEXY!!
Oh.. another thing Tao.. you must get the Nevermind the bollocks dvd it´s a great one too... but it´s not so much like the filth and the fyru since it´s only aboput the making of the record.. but Johnny looks good too so the didn´t talk that mucho about Sid... sisnce he didn´t participate on the record needless to say that nancy wasn´t even mentioned...

Great review Tao....... I loved watching all the old footage, and LOVE the interviews (especially those with John and Sid)..I have always preferred John's recollections of how things were then... .....I know I have asked this elsewhere but don't recall seeing an answer.........why did Julien and John decide to do the interviews in shadow? I wanted to SEEEEEEEEE Johnny dammit That fact and the stupid non-related footage mixed in with the band footage are my only complaints....MORE BAND FOOOTAGE Julien Otherwise PERFECT video.....

Dammit girl, next time create a THREAD for it, people still thought this was about the Filth and the Fury..... ....I am OLD and half BLIND you know I completely agree about the Never Mind the Bollocks DVD though, it is EXCELLENT..........John looked INCREDIBLE and his wit was on par as usual second to none........Jonesy is HYSTERICAL (especially when talking about Glen ), and it was great to see the old footage and hear the stories. I must disagree with Jonesy though, John has aged better than all the rest ;D .........

What a great documentary on the Sex Pistols! The footages of Sid made me so sad, especially the part where he talked about not wanting to be a junkie, the part where he said he would rather be underground (after his release from prison), and the part where he was hit in the face with a beer can! So hard to watch!
John was just so articulate, so fascinating, and so outspoken as always. He choked up while talking about Sid, and that part showed me how truly he cared for his friend. To those who criticize John for not doing enough to help Sid, he did all he could. He said, "I could take on England, but not one junkie."
I must comment on Malcom McLaren as well. While I do give him the credit for putting together the best band in the world, I find him to be either completely arrogant, or completely delusional, or both. He tries to play it off like he's some puppet master, that they were his "artful dodgers", but truth of the matter is, John was way to smart for that, and he got out as quick as he could. Now if Jonesy had listened to John and sacked McLaren, continuing on as a band, who knows how history could have been different!
All in all, such a fascinating documentary! I especially like the historical context, as it really highlights the frustration, the hopelessness and despair felt by the working class during that time period.
