I just finished watching this DVD.....and OMG!!! It was great!!! Not only were we treated to rollicking versions of timeless favorites such as *EMI*.....*Bodies* and *Anarchy*....but we were treated to Sid's infamous bloodfest...Johnny's infamous nosefest and many tender feel-good moments during the show...for example Cookie and Jonesy's touchy feely glance....(it was sweet).....and Jonesy's *come and get me* fight incentives....(he was sexy).....
But I think Johnny wins hands-down on this one...the glances he gives the cowboy audience as well as the tender nod and wink he shares with a LUCKY fan are so YUMMY!!!!! All in all it was a great performance with all of these guys giving 100 percent.....And one more thing...my heart was breaking for poor Sid...who wanted that fan for himself....but I know he got his prize....so all is well!!!!!
Thanks for this one S4J.....My favorite so far!!!!!!

Great, now I want that dvd, because of the great reviews on this site I've got a long list of Johnny related items i have to buy. I've seen the clips of Longhorn that are on youtube but that's probably nothing compared to the DVD experience. But I have to say it is great to read these kind of comments!

I saw the longhorn DVD in a local music store a while a go, but I hesitated about buying it and some a-hole beat me to it. I've been hoping to see another copy around but haven't had any luck, but I wonder if I could ask my sister for a gift for graduation. : P
I should really start avoiding the video section the reviews you write here, make everything sound so appealing.
But at the moment longhorn is at the top of my list!

I have to say that I'm not a huge fan of the Longhorn DVD. There were some good moments but the music was piss poor and the attitude was lack lustre. I found the Winterland DVD much better quality both musically and otherwise although the band don't seem to notice each others presence you really get a feel for a band at the height of their careers but on the brink of self destrution. I love the "Ever get the feeling you've been cheated... goodnight" statement from John at the end and the sarcastic smile as he seems to know that he deliberately put on a shit performance and you get the feeling that he senses that this is the band's final performance and that he's bored with the whole lot. Ironically, it's John who tries to get the band to carry on without Malcolm when the band have their last meeting together and all quit. Steve later remarked that he wishes that he'd listened to John as they walked away from something truly unique. I think that what was needed was a break from each other and the intense media pressure that they were constantly enduring, maybe by way of a short holiday were they weren't so well known. I think Malcolm had become bored with the day to day life of managing/babysitting a band but like all spoilt kids he didn't want anyone else to play with his toys after he'd finished with them so would rather break them than see somebody else enjoy the fruits of his labour. Shame on you Malcolm although the ever growing problem of Sid badly needed addressing. He couldn't play and his drug addiction was spiraling out of control and he was taking away the limelight from the frontman. Sid would have probably been better off fronting his own band although I doubt if they'd have ever mounted to much as he was void of any real talent and relied heavily on shock tactics and I'm guessing that his ultimate fate would have remained the same. Sadly, Sid seemed destined to die. Maybe Jah Wobble should have been in Sid's place... that would have made an interesting line-up and may have made them more musically diverse.

Hi Fuggle.. I think John said in his book that he wanted to put Wobble in the Sex Pistols after Glen left/was fired but Steve and Paul were a bit scared of Wobble or so I read... yeah I agree Wobble would have a been a great bassit for the Sex Pistols...

Since Tao can't get on here right now I will answer that one......she has been into his music for around 5 months, I got her into him...... Yeah, we need a review of Winterland, GREAT show.... .....as to this thread about The Longhorn, sorry, I loved it . My only complaint is way too short . I expect the Sex Pistols performances to be a bit... ..er.... .......raw.... ....that is kinda what they are about to me...........and contrary to what even John believed, I never thought Sid took away from his spotlight....Sid was fun to watch, but John is mesmerizing Anyone have a favorite show from the reunion tour(s)?

I bought Longhorn a month ago, and it was better than I expected, I thought it was gonna be utter chaos. The performance's quite good, and I loved certain little moments like when Jonesy and John look at the bloody mess that is Sid, then Jonesy looks at John and nods his head like saying "He's lost"...Also the whole "John wink" is so cute, and the final Jonesy moment when he's inciting some moron in the audience is quite funny. I don't think he'd get involved in a fisticuff, though, Steve's a lover not a fighter lol. Overall, I'm glad I bought it, too bad it's really short and no interesting extras (at least in the Brazilian edition I've got).

Yeah too short is the ONLY complaint about this one....John looked so good in the pink fuck shirt ;D And I rather like Sid's backing vocals.....very raw........I don't know Vicky, I think Steve would have clobbered the guy... .....his dad WAS a boxer and he grew up in a really rough area..... No extras on my version either to speak of .... ....two videos most of us already have...... Welcome to the board finally

Just got a copy of this (okay so I'm a little behind in the DVD department ) I love that John literraly gets his shirt ripped off. Love Steve taunting the audiance. My fiance and I watched it and all we kept saying is "love to see Greenday play to that audiance!" I somehow got a Portaguese edition. The extras are two videos (taken from the Swindle) and a Bio of the band.
