Just saw this one this weekend and I must say I am impressed with casting since the whole damn thing had to be recast. Christian Bale was a convincing John Connor, much more so than the last guy. Bryce Howard was very good as Kate although I don't know why Claire Danes didn't return.
I was especially happy with the young actor that played Kyle Reese because I was prepared NOT to like him. To me Michael Beihn will always be Kyle (although of course he is way too old to play the part now). The picture that Sarah was supposed to have given her son that Kyle ends up with made an appearance and so did Mr. Governor of California in a cameo. I am very very hopeful for a good sequel especially since this whole film seemed to be made to set one up. John's wife is pregnant, a new child character named Starr was introduced, The Terminator from the first film made an appearance, and we meet Marcus Wright (a character that was more the hero of the film than John or Kyle). All in all well worth going to see if you are a fan of the Terminator series.

But I suppose he doesn't have time for it since he is a governor now haha 
. I am hoping the next movie will be the final one and will end with Kyle and Arnie being sent back to 1984. That would be a perfect ending. I just wish it could somehow be Michael Beihn even though I loved this new kid. I am like you in that respect, I want to see it done right with the originals.
