Anyone read "Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk" by Legs McNeil & Gillian McCain? I've had it for a year or so, but as I'm a huge Television freak, I mostly just scanned it for Richard Lloyd quotes. Now I've started reading it from the beginning. I know from my scanning that the authors have a huge chip on their shoulders re where punk began--New York vs. London--which is a turnoff for me, as frankly, I could care less. But so far, it's been interesting reading about the very early days of the MC5 and Iggy. (The Warhol section didn't grab me as much, perhaps because I went through a big Edie phase in high school and now see it all as kind of sad and silly...)
Any thoughts?
