Sept. 4. Steve Irwin died. I know today everyone is commemorating 9/11. But Mr. Irwin died without any hate cited anywhere. He died as a result of his love of wildlife and a fluke accident that could have happened to anyone. Goodbye Croc Hunter. We miss you still. The gentleman loading Steve's truck was a dear friend that helped on nearly all of Steve's croc episodes. Can there be a better tribute than this? The Crocs are Crying indeed.

My oldest, who is 8, adores Steve Irwin. In fact, right now he's reading one of his Crocodile Hunter bios, and last night he watched "Wiggly Safari" for the 1,000th time (where Steve meets the Wiggles). He claims he's going to marry Bindi when he grows up (they both are obsessed with snakes, so I guess it's a good match). So, needless to say, we noted the anniversary the last week... I greatly admire Irwin's devotion to wildlife preservation and how he lived every day to the fullest, with passion for everything he did. Which is fortunate, since he died so young. I think everyone can learn from that.
