Wow, that is one of John's best interviews I have ever read. I have Megabugs so I knew about the Praying Mantis but I thoroughly enjoyed this entire interview. Atheist says John? I am not so sure. I think he is just against organized religion and what human beings have done with it. Thank you for that link Joan!!

Wow, what a brilliant interview, I really enjoyed it, thank you for the link! There's so much to learn from his view of life. I am looking forward to his new stuff, but it's completely understandable it's not his priority right now. After reading that interview I'm really regretting not saving up for the new book.

I loved that interview too! At first I wasn't sure if I did the right thing buying the book because it dug a big hole in my bank account and I have to save money for the rest of the year (and next!), but now I am convinced that it's really going to be something special! I just wish he'd explain to those jerks who keep complaining about the price, that something like this requires some funding! He's paying a lot to have these books made too, and what people don't understand is that he needs money for his work just like any normal person! Unfortunately nothing is free in this society.

Hullo, hallo~
'Tis Tilly; I've been gone for quite a while, unfortunately. Damn life, always getting in the way! {x
Ahem, anyway; I've also taken a gander at the aforementioned interview, and I agree that it was a spiffing example of Rotten expressing himself as a human being, and not the egotistical scoundrel that snotty 'bone-to-pick' tabloid newspapers have so often passed him off as. Another decent recent example of this can be found in his telephone interview with Huey Morgan on Radio Six. Loverly.

Liz--I agree. I'm not sure either that John is an atheist. Most of the atheists I know can't be bothered to talk about religion other than to occasionally make jokes, because if it's all just superstition, why would it merit any more attention? John, however, is borderline obsessed! Also, I don't have the exact words, but during the D.C. show he introduced "Religion" with a long diatribe (of course!) and said something to the effect that "my God" (his quote) didn't deal with people the way organized religion does. That really jumped out at me at the time. He's a man of contradictions, of course, but something in my gut says that he is not a hardcore atheist. I think he is angry at organized religion and maybe even at the God that is accepted by those that practice it. At the God he was forced to follow as a child maybe. I can understand that as I was raised fundamentalist in the South. I get him. I don't think he is an atheist, I just think he finds fault with the notions held by most organized religions.
