Was the material that Don Letts shot when he was with John in Jamaica ever released in a full version? I haven't seen the whole Punk Rock Movie, is it there? Or in the Punk:Attitude? www.youtube.com/watch?v=8q6owT-PTtg

I don't know. It's not in the Punk Rock Movie [except for that part where he's destroying something and he gets stuck in it with his fingers] and I don't think it's in Punk: Attitude.. Maybe it is.. But the same parts as in the YouTube video.. But I don't know that for sure.

Hi, Mashrum. I got the Punk:Attitude DVD for Christmas, and it's not there either. In fact there's pretty little JOHN in that DVD. I'd also love to see more John footage in Jamaica.

I would love to see more of that footage, and even more than THAT I would have loved to have seen more of that HOT interview with him where he is talking about it. Looks like 2002 or so

Thanks for the info! I have seen that last part of Punk Rock Movie where he destroys that thing (what is it? and whose that voice that keeps yelling at him to stop? ) - that's where the film ends? Are there any extras on the DVD? Like that Slits Pictures film or something? How do you like the Punk:Attitude Michelle? I have seen just some parts on YouTube... I have read some comments about it by Jayne County and she doesn't like it much.

Well, Punk:Attitude's got lots of hours of footage, and I really haven't watched ALL of it... well, but that tells you I really haven't liked it very much............. Maybe it's because it's got too many interviews and not enough old footage, which I love. It's always interesting to watch something Punk related, though.

I also prefer old footage to "talking heads" - it's better to see the original thing and get an idea of what is punk about yourself rather than just to listen to someone. Still, I would like to see it when I had the chance.

I would like to know this too Kathy.........I want to own every piece of footage ever done of John including home movies by his family and friends.........obsessed ? What are you talking about? I've read about this in a few places. Here's one link discussing the unreleased (DAMNIT) version of Submission, apparently recorded Rasta-style from John's '78 trip to the friendly island nation of Jamaica: www.fodderstompf.com/CHRONOLOGY/1978.htmlCould you imagine??? Submission is currently my favorite Pistols recording. It's so unlike anything else they did, a great tune (I love the way Glen describes what Malcolm wanted and what the song was really about!!! ). It's a slow song (by Sex Pistols standards anyway). It would be killer to hear a raggae recording of Submission. Why, John, do you have to be such a perfectionist???
