This is the only book so far I have found on just PiL. I know there is one that has been in the process of coming out for the last year called John Lydon's Public Image Limited.....anyone heard anything about that one? Or this one?
This book that I do have is a slim volume paperback by Clinton Heylin that details mainly the version of PiL with Jah, Keith, and Martin. The book details the breakup and is not very complimentary to John continuing on after that, calling him a buffoon or parody of his former self. I enjoyed the book for it's information (interviews with Keith, discussion about PiL shows, discussion about the records, general info I didn't know about the band). Of course I loved the pictures it goes without saying. The author used to do a fanzine, I believe, on the band and does appear knowlegable about the early years (before he dismisses John
). I would recommend it for true Johnny fans just because there isn't alot out there and we can never really get enough
