Glen's book. Anyone else have it? This book is a great look at the early Pistols and Glen is SOOOOOOOO funny. Just from looking at him and listening to most interviews you would never know he has such a great sense of humor........I recommend this book very highly (for the Adverntures of John and Rambo if no other reason )

More exerted stories tidbits from Glen's book When John famously stated on stage at Finsbury Park 1996 ".....we are Fat and Forty.." Glen said he was standing there thinking " hey wait, I am only 39 " Glen told the story of the first time the band actually reunited privately and ran through their songs for the first time in 20 years........he said Jonesy, Cookie, and himself played away and John just sat there drinking beer and watching them . He refused to go to the mic... ......finally Jonesy and Cookie got a bit upset and perturbed and left . Glen thought "why not give it one more go" and so he took a guitar himself and said to John "John don't you fancy having a go at it?".. ....when he looked up John was at the mic. Together, he and John ran through all the songs alone. When Glen walked outside after it was over he saw a bunch of Neurotic Outsiders fans standing there waiting for Jonesy (who had already left). They had been listening through the walls to him and John rehearse and didn't realize it was Glen and not Jonesy playing guitar. Glen said he could just imagine them all going back and saying "MAN , Jonesy's guitar playing has REALLY went down hill".... ...

What a great story!!!! You do such a great job at telling these!!!! I love the part where the Neurotic Outsider's fans thought they were listening to Jonesy...and it was Glen!!! that's wickedly funny stuff!!!! I am going to have to get Glen's book and read up on ALL of the Adventures of Glen and the Band...... ;D

I have the book (my lit teacher actually gave it to me as a graduation present! weird, yeah?) and I love the part where he talks about when the Pistols started rehearsing for the 2003 tour (I think... correct me if I'm wrong) he brought his son, Sam, who was 9, along, and his son beat John at table tennis!! I guess it really made the tension bareable.

One of the best things about Glen is he keeps UPDATING the book to add the behind the scene story if anything new comes up Another part that I loved was his description of the incident of the article that had appeared (during 1996 tour) where Jonesy had stated that he liked working with singers that were also musicians because they weren't such egomaniacs. ..THEN John saw the article during the Aussie part of the tour, Jonesy KNEW he saw it, but John didn't comment on it for a long time making ole Jonesy squirm. You get the impression Glen really enjoyed that whole little incident......a bit of devil in the boy.

I admit it - I hate buying things on line due to my impatience of needing to have what I want when I want it or ferget it.
But in the case of I Was a Teenage Sex Pistol, I have made an exception. I just ordered Glen's book along with No One is Innocent from Amazon today, even though I know Glen will probably be updating his book very soon with new info. from the Holidays tour. Oh well, just couldn't wait to find out what everyone's been talking about around here regarding Glen's sense of humor. Don't know why, but I just picture Matlock as being so serious, not funny!!!

I thought the exact same thing about Glen when I first saw The Filth and the Fury, and the Making of NMTB DVDs..........but then when I read the book I was like then Because Glen seems just one of those quiet guys thats mind is always working and sees ordinary situations in a HYSTERICAL light... .....dry sense of humor. Makes me think if the other guys had taken time to get to really know him back in the day he might not have ever been replaced... ......except that John hated him

Well, over a week has passed since I ordered my Glen and Sid books over the internet. I shouldn't be holding my breath for the postman to skip up the walkway with my delivery anytime soon. Since I didn't specify express mail when I placed the order, the estimated delivery date is around Thanksgiving, when I'll be busy with family things. There won't be much personal time to myself to devote to reading. Oh but my credit card has already been charged, they didn't let any dust settle with that! Three weeks to get a simple order delivered - at that rate, I might have written my own book! This is why I hate ordering things on line. With a store, you go in, get your stuff when you pay for it, and off you go. Damnit! Where the hell did you order from? I ordered it from his site and got it in like less than a week.....er........maybe I did express delivery... ......I can't remember, just was REAL anxious for Glen's updated book.. ......I sure hope he updates it again after THIS tour is over.......... I should mention that at last night's show John and Glen were way friendly with each other (awwwwwwwwwwwwww ----meaning Glen put an arm around John at the end of the show as they walked off

Glen showing love towards John on stage? They loved me! ;D Did Glen throw flowers? Well, hopefully this puts an end once and for all to the rumors about how they feel about each other. Most recently, there was some talk about Glen not wanting John to play Bodies on the Holidays tour because of all the cursing. Since they obviously did include Bodies in the set, well, that turned out to be a bunch of BOLLOCKS! Oh definitely. Glen himself had said that was bollocks They all seemed to be having fun, Glen and Jonesy did quite a bit of cutting up on Saturday....

I haven't had an order take 3-4 weeks since I used a mail in order for.
