Well, over a week has passed since I ordered my Glen and Sid books over the internet. I shouldn't be holding my breath for the postman to skip up the walkway with my delivery anytime soon. Since I didn't specify express mail when I placed the order, the estimated delivery date is around Thanksgiving, when I'll be busy with family things. There won't be much personal time to myself to devote to reading. Oh but my credit card has already been charged, they didn't let any dust settle with that! Three weeks to get a simple order delivered - at that rate, I might have written my own book! This is why I hate ordering things on line. With a store, you go in, get your stuff when you pay for it, and off you go. Damnit! Where did you order from?? Most standard shipping is a week to 9/10 days ... TOPS. I haven't had an order take 3-4 weeks since I used a mail in order for. I ordered from Flamazon. Got upset last night because of all the delays and cancelled. Then gave them a bit of this Afterwards I ordered Glen's book new elsewhere and requested express delivery - so it will be here by the end of the week.

Glen's book. Anyone else have it? This book is a great look at the early Pistols and Glen is SOOOOOOOO funny. Just from looking at him and listening to most interviews you would never know he has such a great sense of humor........I recommend this book very highly (for the Adverntures of John and Rambo if no other reason ) Began reading Glen's book. Just finished the part where he gets his first "girlfriend" when he was 16-17. She was 10 years his senior, a friend of Vivienne Westwood's, an American, and was dating a touring rockstar. I thought it was hilarous when he referred to himself as her "toy boy!!!" Still, our discreet bass player does not state her name. This, of course, doesn't keep enquiring minds from wanting to know!! I wonder if it was Chrissy Hynde, who not only knew Vivienne but actually appeared in a photo at Sex along with Vivienne and Jordan where all three are bent over showing their behinds!!! Chrissy dated Nick Kent, the musician/writer who Sid supposedly slugged! Now, I know Chrissy is maybe 5-6 years old than Glen, but you know how wrong some guys can be when attempting to guess a woman's age. Does anyone know who Glen was referring to? Was it Chrissy???

Haha, actually no, she DIDN'T ask Sid........he was in the middle of condemning her for having alterer motives for wanting to marry John when he thought better of it and asked HER.......he just kinda said "Okay I will do it....."

Don't think it was Chrissy, because she didn't have a boyfriend when she went to London (she says in interviews that she went to England with no strings attached, re: she didn't want a boyfriend in America and she left nothing in America). I tend to think it was one of the many punk groupies that were dating the punk bands in New York. I can't remember the name of the one I'm thinking of right now, but Legs McNeil talks about her in "Please Kill Me." If I had the book with me right now, I would look it up but unfortunately it's in another state.

I've read some more of the book and he's now talking about Chrissy for the first time. So much for my brilliant theory. As for who the "lady" in question is, we'd best not hold our breath in getting the information directly from the horse's mouth anytime soon. For as you can see, the Glenster a/k/a Glen Stefani a/k/a Glenny-poo continues to be tightlipped about the whole situation, damnit: www.newyorkwaste.com/nyw_main/music/GlenMatlock/GlenMatlock_0270.gifC'mon Glen, it's been 30 years - spill the beans already!!!!

Okay, I flew through the book. Here's what I learned, class: 1. Not a total goody-goody, snuck into X-rated films, succumbed to an older groupie-type in a latrine. 2. Believes in saying "excuse me" if you accidentally burp during an interview. 3. Grooming has always been important. 4. Very organized. 5. Likely waving to his uncle, 8 year old cousin, or other relations on Grundy. 6. Yelled at by father over rude language on Grundy - was GUILTY! by association. 7. Has a love-hate relationship with John. 8. Claims he saved John from falling into the Pacific Ocean while drunk. 9. Takes ownership of 98% of Pretty Vacant. 10. No love lost where Rammy is concerned. 11. Amazed by how Jonsey can wolf down the food. 12. Says you get a good insight into Paul's personality via Grundy show (maybe not, Glen) 13. Decided to go sight-seeing in Compton, CA. 14. Came this close to being car-jacked, required escort by LAPD. 15. Holds no grudges toward Sid.

I LOVE This post..........it is easy to read for those like me I would like to say though that I didn't get the impression he and Rammy have a bad relationship, Rammy DID like Glen best until the whole monitor incident Remember Rammy liked Glen because he wore a "woman's coat"

RAMMY is to JOHN as JOHN is to ________________________. (Jeopardy music plays.....)

That was all I could think of too... ....okay Kathy, we give.. ..unless someone else has a different answer Oops forgot about Nora But getting back to Glen's book (the clue). 1. Glen referred to Rammy as John's "minder." 2. Now, John has never served as anyone's "minder" to that degree, but he HAS been someone's "protector"... 3. ...Jumping in to rescus him from obnoxious TV show interviewers, standing in front of him at photo shoots when he turned unexpectedly shy, ensuring he got served while ordering pints of Guiness in pubs without having to suffer the embarrassment of showing I.D. (well, maybe this didn't happen, but it COULD have), etc. 4. Rammy is called "the little guy." Who else fits the bill with this nickname? 5. And...last but certainly not least...the important photographic documentation.... It's KEIFFY!!!
