I`m 24 that I`d say I`m half 80s and 90s when it comes to my childhood.. I was into the Backstreet Boys but as a teenager.. I was 14 when I got into them in 98 as fot Take That.. I had never heard of them just Robbie Williams... Ohh some Blur songs I remeber.. now all of the girls I know well some girls I know via msn are Blur fans.. not me haha.. they are 15-16 years old who got into them though Gorrilaz... I knew Blur before... "Boys will be boys" is a song that I can listen to now and in some ways it reminds me of my childhood

I remember hearing a God-awful remake of Relight My Fire, a late '70s hit from Harrisburg PA's own Dan Hartman. Was that done by this band? Do you mean this one? www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWPUespcblUYeah that's it (Kathy groaning) a perfectly good old school song - ruined!!!

I agree, Kathy, the original souns much better. I also remember another awful cover they made, and it was Bee Gees (?) : How Deep Is Your Love (though I hated even the original, not a big fan of Bee Gees)... What is really funny for me about the Take That is how it was always that ugly fat guy who was doing all the singing, and the others were just dancing around... Johnnysgirl, be glad you have never heard Take That . I think they were probably popular just in Europe (like NSync and 98 Degrees were never that popular here as in the States - or at least in my country they weren't). I don't know if Robbie is as popular around the world as he is in Europe, but they always say he he's be struggling to make it big in America. I don't like his music either, but at least he shows some sense of humour from time to time. I also knew Blur before Gorillaz, the Brit-pop thing was pretty popular here in late 90s (everybody also loved Pulp...also Verve were popular). Damon Albarn is a cool guy.

Speaking of songs that make ya nostalgic, Relight My Fire (the original) is one.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=AviLDYjnBj4I used to blast this while driving around in my first tank, a/k/a my used '76 white Grand Prix!!! They don't make records or cars like they used to!!! R.I.P. - Dan Hartman

The Bee Gees it would seem are one of John's favorite bands.... Have to say I have always grudgingly liked them too. I think it has something to do with Barry looking like Christ and being kinda religiously afraid to go against him I am "nostalgic" I guess with their stuff, AC/DC (how is THAT for a turn around ), and 70's/80's music in general because I am.... .....well....... ......old Christ www.youtube.com/watch?v=dn9cHegvcFI&NR=1Jesus in silver spandex www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpRFeJEG6_o

Every time he came to Munich he was fucking my mother. He used to play songs for me on his harmonica. Those were fond memories."

Was Nora involved in the music or entertainment industry before she married John? It seems like she was involved with a lot of musicians (Hendrix, Barry Gibb, Chris Spedding). Did she run in those circles back then?

That's how she knew so many musicians and well... ; ) And as a random aside, John and Nora aren't technically married, aren't they? I believe I remember reading John saying that they aren't technically married... maybe I imagined that in my head.

Interesting...So they're not legally married? I don't think they are legally. I remember an article where John mentioned it, but I can't find it now. John has stated on a couple of occasions that they are married "in here" (points at his head)........and Nora's ex states he doesn't think they got legally married. John stated back in the 80s that they were "secretly" married in 1979. So I don't know. I guess by CA law they are legally married common law at least.

It looks like CA doesn't recognize common law marriages any more family-law.freeadvice.com/family-law/commonlawmarriage.htmSo unless they went through a ceremony, they're not married...

True. Though as John stated, the real commitment is in the heart and he is thoroughly committed to her.... ....and apparently vice versa .........Not many couples last over 30 years any more
